Is there just a list of time zones for the united states I can use with php? Im using the timezone names from php such as America/Anchorage, php lists time zones here:,Note that this will include South American, Canadian etc timezones as well though. You could play around with DateTimeZone::PER_COUNTRY as a filter to timezone_identifiers_list for PHP 5.3 and see if that gets you want you want, or filter the complete list for US/. The best choice is probably to handpick the timezones though.,Brute-force way to get ALL timezones per country using PHP's GEOIP. The code is not intended to look nice. You should call this only once and store the result somewhere., Want to improve this question? Update the question so it's on-topic for Stack Overflow.

Here is a list I found:

Eastern Time America / New_York
Central Time America / Chicago
Mountain Time America / Denver
Mountain Time(no DST) America / Phoenix
Pacific Time America / Los_Angeles
Alaska Time America / Anchorage
Hawaii - Aleutian America / Adak
Hawaii - Aleutian Time(no DST) Pacific / Honolulu

Im using the timezone names from php such as America/Anchorage, php lists time zones here:,If you're after detection of the user's time zone, consider using the JavaScript library jsTimeZoneDetect. It is not perfect either, but it works in general, and is based on a more logical algorithm.,The solution is simple but requires to change that file. Simply copy paste the PHPToExcel function, name it PHPToExcelWithoutUTC (or any name you want) and comment the following lines:,To get a list of time zones, you can use something like:

America ,List of Supported Timezones, Pacific , Africa

Note that "America"
means "the continents of North and South America, including the Caribbean islands".It does * not * mean "The United States Of America".If you 're looking for the Hawaii timezone, you'
ll find it in Pacific / Honolulu(not America / Honolulu).

The development team learns a valuable and costly lesson: daylight saving time is the worst.,It’s possible, as in Listing 1, to generate a list of all available time zone names using the listIdentifiers static method on DateTimeZone. The method accepts two optional parameters which can be used to filter the listing based on time zone region or country.,Sometimes you’ll get unexpected results from constructing DateTime objects.,All of this is to say, when doing date arithmetic, be careful and don’t add seconds to timestamps. Instead, you can use a variety of methods which are available on the DateTime instance.

There are two direct ways to construct DateTime objects, namely using the DateTime constructor itself with new or using the createFromFormat static method. The DateTime constructor is very versatile as it uses the same parser as strtotime to understand it’s input, therefore, you can use strings such as “now”, “May 11th 2009”, “last day of next month” and “2015-02-19 13:45:00” to create your objects.

$tomorrow = new\ DateTime("+1 day");

Replace US/Central with the timezone from here that corresponds to the time you want to display. ,Short answer is find your offset and use the one that matches.  There are many and I think some with the same UTC offset.,   // add the lines as needed depending of the UTC offset,Add the following line of code to top of your php.ini file: date.timezone = "US/Central".
